On August 14, 2024, the Ministry of Tourism reported that Cambodia generated $814,775 in revenue from ticket sales to the Angkor resort during the week of August 5 to 11, 2024. The number of foreign tourists visiting the site during this period reached 17,355, marking a 5.9% increase. Nationwide, Cambodia welcomed approximately 361,200 domestic tourists and about 65,000 foreign tourists during the same week.
In terms of international flights, Cambodia saw a total of 474 arrivals. Phnom Penh International Airport handled 356 of these flights, Siem Reap Angkor International Airport received 103 flights, and Sihanoukville International Airport managed 15 flights.
The Ministry of Tourism anticipates a continued rise in tourist numbers, bolstered by several key campaigns, including “Year of Siem Reap 2024,” “Year of Cambodian-Chinese People Change 2024,” and the inaugural “Cambodia-India Tourism Year 2024.” Additionally, various tourism promotion activities, such as the Gumball 3000 event, are expected to further enhance tourism growth.
