Singapore Airlines (SIA) has announced plans to significantly increase flights to several key destinations, including Siem Reap province, in response to the rising demand for air travel. These changes will be implemented from March to October 2025 as part of the airline’s broader strategy to enhance passenger capacity across its global network. In a news release on Monday, August 12, SIA outlined its intentions to boost services to various popular cities worldwide, according to Singapore’s Channel News Asia (CNA).

One of the notable changes is the doubling of flights to Siem Reap, a major tourist destination in Cambodia, from the current once-daily service to twice daily. This increase highlights the growing interest in Siem Reap as a travel hotspot, particularly for visitors eager to explore the iconic Angkor Wat temple complex and other cultural landmarks. The expansion of services to Siem Reap is part of SIA’s broader plan to meet the expected surge in travel demand during the mid-year peak season in 2025. Dai Haoyu, SIA’s Acting Senior Vice President for Marketing Planning, emphasized that the airline regularly reviews its network to ensure capacity aligns with passenger volume.

“These adjustments, made in advance of next summer, address the higher demand to several destinations, particularly during the traditional mid-year peak travel season, allowing our customers to confidently plan their 2025 travel,” said Dai.

In addition to Siem Reap, SIA will also increase flights to other key cities, including London, Rome, Milan, Barcelona, and Ho Chi Minh City, among others. For Siem Reap, the enhanced connectivity is expected to further boost its appeal as a top destination in Southeast Asia, offering more travel options for both leisure and business travelers. SIA’s expansion of services comes as air travel continues to recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, with many airlines ramping up operations to meet the resurgent demand.
