Sousdei and welcome to Siem Reap, Cambodia! Upon arrival in Siem Reap, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel for check-in (Standard check-in time is from 14:00). Spend the remainder of the day at your leisure, exploring the pub streets at night or relaxing at your hotel after the tiring flight.
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, we’ll drive further to the outskirts of Siem Reap to visit the charming Banteay Srei, often referred to as the “citadel of women.” Crafted from pink sandstone, Banteay Srei stands out among the temples of Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat due to its distinctive architectural style. Renowned for its intricate classical Khmer art carvings, Banteay Srei offers a unique glimpse into ancient craftsmanship. Following this, we will explore Banteay Samre, an adjacent temple celebrated for its impeccably preserved libraries. Then, we will stop by Artisans Angkor, also known as Artisans d’Angkor, where you will find a wide range of authentic handmade products crafted by Cambodian artists. Established in 1999, this social enterprise was established to revive traditional Khmer craftsmanship and provide sustainable employment opportunities for rural Cambodian artisans.
Return to your hotel in the afternoon. Enjoy a 60-minute traditional Khmer body massage at the hotel’s spa.
At the scheduled time, our driver will take you to a special dinner with an Apsara show. Rooted in Hindu mythology, Apsara (which means “celestial spirit” or “water nymph”) tells legends and religious tales through the graceful movements of the dancer’s hands and feet, accompanied by traditional customs. This performance is recognized as UNESCO’s World Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, we’ll visit a local pagoda, where you can bask in the tranquil morning while exploring its remarkable architecture and delving deeper into Cambodia’s Buddhist traditions through conversations with the monks and the guide. Following this enlightening experience, you’ll participate in the cherished tradition of alms offering and monk blessing ceremony. The monk will gently chant blessings, sprinkle holy water, and delicately place a protective bracelet on your wrist, symbolizing protection from negative energies and bestowing blessings of health and fortune upon you and your loved ones. Next, get ready for a hands-on cooking class where you’ll uncover the secrets of Cambodian cuisine. With guidance from a seasoned Khmer chef, you’ll dive into the vibrant world of local flavors, using only the freshest ingredients sourced from nearby markets. Lunch will be served during the class.
Return to your hotel in the afternoon. Free afternoon at your own leisure. After dinner (at your own expense), the driver will take you to the Phare Circus Theatre, where you will experience Siem Reap’s most unique, authentic, and top-rated live entertainment show. You’ll learn more about Cambodian folklore, culture, and history through theatre, music, and dance performed by circus artists.
Breakfast at the hotel. Free time at your own leisure. At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
